July 3, 2011

It has been another full week around the barn.

Gabrielle has continued working with Faith on the basics that she has already taught her, and was able to share this with her grandparents from Kentucky.  Each day she would go out first thing and eagerly wait for her grandma and granddad to come out and watch.  It was a wonderful week getting to watch her share something she loves so much with my parents.  As typical grandparents, they were thrilled to watch all she wanted to show.  They also loved getting to share this in person instead of just through pictures, and phone calls.

New for this week was trimming Faith's legs with electric trimmers.  Faith stood calmly and patiently for three of her legs to be trimmed.  By the fourth leg she was starting to tell Gabrielle that she was tired of this.

Gabrielle began desensitizing Faith to the trimmers around her face but did touch her with the trimmers around her head yet.  That will come later when Faith's patience is longer.

New for today was an article in the Tri-City Herald featuring Faith and Gabrielle.  You can follow this link to see the whole article. Once on the page you are able to view other pictures that were taken.  Jacques, who wrote the story, has been out to visit with Gabrielle and Faith each week for some time now and has become a welcome guest at our place.

Thank you Jacques for such a wonderfully written piece about both these special girls.  You have become a huge part of this journey for both.  Can't wait to see you again soon.
